Tupac Shakur’s Estate has agreed to a 5-part docuseries on the late hip hop icon’s life. The documentary will include segments of Shakur’s unreleased recordings, writings and poetry.

The feature is being described as, The first definitive, comprehensive project on Shakur with the full cooperation of his estate.’

The Interscope Films and MACRO production will be Directed and Executive Produced by Allen Hughes with Lasse Järvi, Charles D. King and Tom Pellegrini.

Hughes and Shakur’s professional relationship trails back to the early 90’s. After collaborating on successful music videos together, the pair parted ways after a dispute mid-way through filming, ‘Menace II Society’.

Hughes’ recent projects include HBO docuseries The Defiant Ones ft. Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre.
